Job Description

Learner’s Digest (LDI), based on Glendale, California, partners with medical associations to record and publish the content from their national and international medical meetings, turning this content into continuing medical education for health care professionals, primarily those in clinical practice. Some of our partners include the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, American Academy of Neurology, American Psychiatric Association and many more.

The Director of Product Management is responsible for managing the product management activities for the Learner’s Digest International (LDI) business. The Director is responsible for developing and sourcing a robust pipeline of products as part of a concerted product strategy and roadmap that will lead to new revenue streams. The Director assists in the execution of short-term goals and in the development of long-term strategy to sustain the growth of LDI Product lines in support of the organizations goals and market needs.


•Manage the development and execution of comprehensive, strategic product development aimed at delivering innovative, effective, and highly competitive products and solutions driving positive and meaningful business growth.
•Lead, define and manage the technical product roadmap for our learning platform, ensuring our data products continue to lead the market
•Develop data-driven (e.g. customer problems/needs analysis, market segmentation, competitive analysis) strategy and execution plans to achieve business objectives.
•Work with business owners to develop product strategy, including proposed product enhancements, benefit designs, and pricing, when applicable.
•Work in conjunction with Finance, Editorial, and Technology, to evaluate resources invested in supporting product lines to ensure appropriate resource allocation that drive business performance.
•Lead development of business cases by working with colleagues in Marketing, Editorial, Sales, Customer Service, and IT, to develop and analyze the impact of mandated or proposed product changes.
•Understand marketplace trends (consumer, competitor, provider) and assessing new product opportunities (products, services, partnerships, markets).
•Oversee lifecycle of products to ensure that they are managed effectively from launch to sunset.
•Identify market problems - capture 'Voice of the Customer' and employ Design Thinking principles to create new products and design product enhancements.
•Develop product goals in partnership with Product Marketing team.
•Lead product design and development. Set clear priorities and adjust as necessary. Make decisions about product features.
•Work with technology leadership to evaluate and/or prototype new product features.

Job Requirements


•Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field or equivalent work experience. MBA strongly preferred
•12 years of experience in product management with five years of management responsibility

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:
•Full product development lifecycle experience, from definition through delivery and enhancements
•Experience creating and executing strong go-to-market strategies
•Understanding of software development life cycle and principles of user interface design
•Understanding of business analysis, research, and financial modeling to determine product feasibility
•Must be a self-starter, be able to think creatively, take responsibility, be extremely resourceful
•Strong project management and stakeholder management skills
•Good organizational and communication skills
•Strong analytical skills
•Experience with applicable software and database programs including Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
•20% travel is required.
