Job Description

Summary/Objective

The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment/employment, onboarding, training, policy implementation, performance management, and employment law compliance.
 

Job Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and/or maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.

  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.

  • Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.

  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program and writes and places advertisements.

  • Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviewing.

  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.

  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect
    continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.

  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the
    database.

  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in human resource management, business, or related field

  • PHR/ SHRM-CP Certification is preferred but not required

  • Minimum of 3 years of HR or similar experience is preferred

  • Experience with payroll and benefits administration preferred but not required

  • Ability to work well under deadlines and respond to changes in priorities

  • Attention to detail and experience handling sensitive and confidential information

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently, take initiative and see projects through to completion

  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills

  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy
