Havenwyck Hospital is a 243 bed, Joint Commission accredited and licensed psychiatric and substance abuse facility overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing behavioral health and substance abuse services to children, adolescents, and adults. Havenwyck Hospital has an excellent career opportunity for a Psychiatric Care Specialist (PCS) to join our team. The PCS performs routine patient care duties under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assists with patient admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Continuously observes patients’ behavior, mental status, activities and notifies the RN of any changes or unusual occurrences.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Participates in the implementation of the patient’s individualized plan of care.
• Treats all patients and staff with dignity and respect in a consistent manner.
• Represents the facility in a manner that conveys a professional, courteous, caring and cooperative attitude.

Job Requirements

  •  High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of college in areas of psychology, social work, mental health, or other related health fields preferred.
  • One year of experience in the behavioral health field or other related health care experience (Medical Assistant Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech) preferred.
  • Employees must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, evaluation, etc.) to be considered for internal transfers.
