Our client in Lawrence Kansas makes electrical cable for the oil and gas industry. This is a career opportunity to get your foot into the door of one of the most successful companies in the energy sector.

We are seeking people from a variety of backgrounds for these jobs. Current and former machine operators, military experience operating heavy equipment, mechanics, you like working on cars / motorcycles, people who grew up on a farm working around farm equipment maybe you learned how to fix things or repair equipment. If you worked in construction and are good with hand tools and power tools etc. Good mechanical skills and or mechanical aptitude is what we are looking for. People who like to work with their hands, tools and work with state of the art machinery.

Positions open include a variety of shifts, some may be rotating. Training is 3-6 months on first shift. Some overtime & weekends (with minimal notice). Lots of overtime opportunity year-round!

Openings now include 2nd and 3rd shift only. Work 2nd shift you will get $1.00 shift differential, work 3rd shift you will get $1.50 shift differential.

Background Check, Drug Screen and Hair Follicle Tests Required.

  • Key Functions:

    - Qualified to set up and operate specific work center, work center equipment and/or tasks under normal supervision

    - Monitors assigned equipment and performs adjustments as needed

    - Communicates effectively to all levels of the organization

    - Attention to detail in documentation and process tasks

    - Understand safe work practices and apply them accordingly

    - Good general fitness with the ability to lift 10 – 50 lbs. as needed

    - Ability to use measuring instruments and understand specifications

    - Decision making skills on product quality based on specifications and visual observations

    - Ability and willingness to work all 3 shifts if needed, some overtime is required

    - Records necessary data and as well as performs computer input and retrieval completely and accurately

    - Works independently of others as well as with team members, area managers, and support personnel

    - Assists with work center inventories

    - Uses participative team management style

    - Ability to stand for long periods of time

    - Wear PPE, as required, and observe health, safety, and environmental policies

    - Successfully complete required safety training (including but not limited to forklift, drug and alcohol, electrical, emergency response, fire, first aid, health and hygiene, PPE, SIPP, risk reporting, IT security, hazardous materials, driving)

    Employees may be assigned other duties, in addition to or in lieu of those described above, and any duties are subject to change at any time, according to the needs of the company

    Experience:

    1 – 3 Years mechanical and/or manufacturing experience

    Forklift operating experience preferred

    Specialized Knowledge & Skills (If Applicable) in the following areas:

    - Ability to communicate and accept responsibility for customer service department.

    - Ability to work independently and with others.

    - Ability to make effective decision.

    - Knowledge of cable manufacturing processes.

    - Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office Suites; SAP a plus

    Education:

    High School Diploma or Equivalent
