Seeking a knowledgeable, compassionate and dependable Contingent Hospice Aide. The Hospice Aide provides basic personal care and homemaking services as directed by the Operations Manager or Registered Nurse. The Hospice Aide must be certified through the State of Michigan as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and maintains such certification in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and performs within the scope specified. CNA is required at time of interview.
Contingent Hospice Aides are important to our organization, teams and patients. As a contingent you will be called upon to cover various shifts, as needed, so we can continue to provide quality care to all of our patients all of the time. Hours will vary.

Performs the following or similar patient-care tasks in accordance with the plan of care developed by the Registered Nurse:
- Temperature, pulse and respiration.
- Sponge, tub, shower and/or bed baths; shampoo in sink, tub, shower and/or bed.
- Oral hygiene, nail and skin care, back rubs; assist with use of bedpan or urinal.
- Making an occupied bed.
- Range of motion exercises, positioning, transferring and/or ambulating.
- Assist patients with light household services essential to health care at home such as preparing light meals.
- Interacts and communicates with patients and caregivers.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
One (1) or two (2) years of experience as a home health/hospice aide or nurse assistant is highly preferred.
Completion of a home health/hospice aide training and competency-evaluation program or an in-house competency-evaluation program.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is required.
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently and be able to effectively communicate with both internal and external relationships for all essential job functions.
Ability to use technology (hardware and software) HOM requires clinicians to use in their practice such as computer, cell phone, printer, pager, fax, copiers, PDAs, etc.
Must demonstrate the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Must possess sound judgment, prioritization and follow-up skills.
Must be able to cope with family/caregiver emotional stress, cultural diversity and be tolerant of individual life-styles.
