 Charles E. Smith Life Community, a premier provider of post-acute, dementia, long-term care, and independent and assisted living services is searching for an energetic self-starter to work as a top notch Resident Cook.

Located on a 34-acre campus in suburban Rockville, MD, our system provides a continuum of care encompassing long-term care at the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington ,assisted living at Landow House, memory care assisted living at Cohen-Rosen House, independent living at Ring and Revitz House, and the Hirsh Health Center, an outpatient health clinic. With a rich history of over one hundred years of service to the community, we deliver quality services to over one thousand residents each day.

Responsibilities include: Working with the chef as part of a team to prepare delicious restaurant quality meals to be served in an elegant setting, prep work, and salad making, following recipes and menu plans and supporting the chef in the kitchen.


 Candidates should be: Dependable and willing to work in a seven day per week operation.  A typical schedule would be 10:00AM- 6:30PM with every other weekend off; or 11:00AM-7:00PM Sun-Friday, with flexibility to the needs of the organization.

Prior experience in Kosher Dining is a plus.

Qualified Candidates will have:

·         Prior experience working with a chef as part of a team in a fine dining environment.

·         Basic knowledge of cooking methods/procedures and basic knife skills. 

·         H.C.A.A.P training and ServSafe certification. 

·         Some training in commercial food preparation.

·         Good Communication Skills
