Job Description

JOB TITLE:                    Commercial Lender                                         

REPORTS TO:           President/Chief Executive Officer                              

DIRECT REPORTS:     N/A

FSLA STATUS:          Exempt    

 

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for new commercial and retail business development, as well as managing an existing/ assigned portfolio of clients. This position will be an integral part of the new commercial banking team. Residential mortgage banking experience is also desired. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  1. Responsible for developing new business with target clients that are small to medium sized businesses with credit facilities in the $500,000 to $3,500,000 range.

  2. Manage all aspects of commercial client relationship management including; underwriting, documentation, credit monitoring, annual reviews, account maintenance, and customer service.

  3. Accountable for establishing and managing a defined marketing program for their business office. Including maximizing referrals, calling on prospects, expanding their center of influence, and becoming involved and networking within the community.

  4. Facilitate residential mortgage lending activities for their business office including managing the application process, compliance, documentation, and coordinating with the Senior Credit Analyst to underwrite and prepare deals.

  5. Successfully operate a relationship banking approach cross selling treasury management products and services focusing on non interest bearing deposit account acquisition.

  6. Coordinate with the CEO and CCO on lending initiatives and operating the bank’s lending strategy.

 

 

SECONDARY DUTIES:  

 

  1. Participates in professional associations; attends industry-related conventions, conferences; reads pertinent publications.

  2. Develops relationships with other bank-related executives to enhance network and to increase awareness of new services/opportunities.

  3. Other duties as may be assigned.

  4. Performs other duties as may be assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or banking or equivalent education experience 

  • Graduate level preferred and/or completion of graduate level banking school

     

    Experience

  • 5+ years lending or financial services experience within a bank or financial institution

  • Demonstrated experience and ability in making executive and daily operating decisions

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

     

    Work is performed largely within the Bank, community, and at customer sites with limited chance for personal injury.  Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required.  Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines.  Work hours are generally during normal business hours.  Unscheduled evening and weekend work will be needed to meet the needs of customers and employees.  Occasional out-of-town and overnight business travel is required.
