The Charge Nurse for Residential Health Services is a RN who is responsible for the overall nursing care/service on his/her shift, including the accurate and timely administration of medications, treatments, documentation and emergency calls for the Independent Living Residents.
Supervises direct care of residents on his/her shift.
Administers direct care as necessary.
Gives and receives shift reports.
Keeps physicians and families aware of changes in resident's condition.
Assists in developing comprehensive care plans.
Maintains the self respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each resident.
Maintains accurate documentation of all care rendered.
Responds to resident emergency call system.
Interfaces with other disciplines to assure continuity of care and services.
Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
Assures proper functioning of equipment and adequate supplies.
Administers first aid/emergency care to employees when necessary and assesses whether to send the employee off site or by 911 for additional care.
Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
