We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Warehouse Associate for our First Quality Retail Services division located in King of Prussia, PA.  This position will be responsible for taking personal responsibility to prevent accidents and injuries by observing established working rules, follow the directions of supervisors, practice the principles taught in safety training and provide ideas to further strengthen our program. Responsible for working in a safe manner to oversee he delivery and staging of all materials need for the finished goods manufacturing process. To work and communicate with the material handlers and manufacturing personnel on any material issues. The first line of leadership is the Receiving Coordinator.

The employee will be responsible for working in a safe manner in a manufacturing plant operation at all times and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).  Must be able to work overtime as required.  The associate will be working in a warehouse environment.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Adheres to all Safe Work Practices (SWP) and organizational policies and procedures. Must abide by all safety requirements in an effort to attain safety goals.

  • Review all inbound shipments daily.

  • Communicates with truck drivers to follow the schedule, assign doors, and unload inbound shipments.

  • Communicates with Receiving Coordinator about any changes in the day’s scheduling.

  • Collaborate with other departments such as: Inventory Control, Scheduling, and Purchasing to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

  • Accurately check shipments and scan them to approved Warehouse locations.

  • Properly stage and store raw materials in the correct locations.

  • Organize and consolidate stored raw materials to create space for inbound shipments.  

  • Checks labels for accuracy (correct RM#s and unit of measurements).

  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors, associates and all other departments.

  • Cycle count Materials or locations as directed.   

  • Pull and delivery of materials to designated areas on the manufacturing floor.

  • Participate in all physical inventories.

  • Able to use the data collection system (scanners, computer, etc.).

  • Secure all trailers at the dock via procedures.

  • Load/unload trucks and trailers.

  • Take scrap and trash to dumpster or baler area, as required.

  • Performs general housekeeping tasks to keep the warehouse in “tour ready” condition.  Tasks can include: sweeping, picking up debris/trash, mopping.

  • Place rejected materials and finished product in designated locations.

  • Assist in the warehouse operations as needed, and handle other such duties as assigned (i.e. material handler, etc.).

  • Completes daily pre-shift inspection of powered industrial equipment to ensure proper maintenance of warehouse equipment.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Attend and participate in all training programs, meetings, etc.

  • Complete all applicable paperwork in accordance with job duties and responsibilities.

  • Unload, check and count incoming raw materials.

  • Place materials in designated areas, within warehouse.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate (orally and written) with associates and other departmental personnel.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1-2 years of warehouse experience.

  • Organizational ability and effective communication skills required.

  • Must be able to work overtime (weekday and weekend) as required. Able to operate motorized, industrial lift equipment and become certified.

  • Must be able to make decisions in an independent mode.

  • Must be able to articulate and clearly convey information, directions, etc.; must have good interpersonal and leadership skills and interface with all departments;

  • Must be able to speak, read and write the English language and perform basic mathematical skills.  Must be able to pass minimum required standard on all competency tests.
