International Forwarding Operations Specialist
The International Forwarding Operations Specialist is responsible for determining the best shipping options based on client requirements and providing them with a budget of associated costs, keeping in mind the amount of work involved and making sure a reasonable profit is considered. Responsible for also following up to ascertain if quotes are accepted by the recipient.

Job Type : Full time

Responsibilities:
  • Ability to quote and route freight across multiple transportation channels and services daily. This includes international air and ocean import and export
  • Have a strong Sense of Urgency in responding back to Clients in a Timely manner as per KPIS. The turnaround time is within 24 hours on any moves where Oversees Origin or Destination costs are involved and 1 hours on Door to Airport or Door to Ports transactions.
  • Ability to Call foreign agents and obtain information in a timely manner.
  • Manage an active workflow and ensure that files are kept organized, and that ample time is given to each file to avoid last minute issues. Prioritization of workload to ensure timely and efficient handling of all shipments.
  • Provide proper and detailed information to clients/agents to make sure they are kept informed and provided with the most current information of any changes relating to their shipments.
  • Receive, review, and process export and import documentation for accounts.
  • Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed, and released to carrier, customers, and agents in a timely manner.
  • Obtain and create quotes for shipments and source best method of transportation.
  • Continue to explore different options to reduce cost and increase revenues.
  • Quote customers on shipments timely and accurately.
  • Adhere to TSA and other government regulatory compliance standards with regards to booking, routing of all air, ground, and sea cargo.
  • Work within team environment to ensure workload is evenly distributed and that clients are getting proper coverage when a colleague is out of the office.
  • Support with business development.
  • Support in expanding and improving client relationships, including direct client interaction, attending events and travel to client locations when necessary.
  • Expanding and improving vendor relationships, including direct interaction, attending events and travel to agent locations when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of systems including FileMaker, PNET, Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Assist with overall office operations including customer satisfaction profitability and interface with other Masterpiece offices, vendors and foreign agents.
  • Assist as necessary with accounting issues, including but not limited to checks, accounts payable invoices, accounts receivable/billing and interface with corporate accounting when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Domestic and International Freight Forwarding
  • Must have a better than average understanding of the Export and import Regulations or other government agency regulations that govern exports.
  • Familiarity with Common Carrier tariffs, accessorial charges, FAKs, freight classes, and NMFCs.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to details for data entry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Effective follow-up skills
  • Desires a fast-paced dynamic work environment
  • High initiative and high energy
