Job Description

Summary

Under the direction of the Pebble Plant Operations Manager, the Process Engineer provides technical support and drives continuous improvements in manufacturing process capability, capacity and productivity at the site to ensure safe and optimal process utilization. Implements capital and expense projects within scope, cost, time and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identifies, recommends and implements improvements in plant performance to optimize product volume, yields and quality in accordance with business needs. Gathers and evaluates appropriate data, utilizing statistical techniques to improve process capability and/or identify root causes of problems, and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Provides technical advice and support to resolve unusual problems using root cause analysis.
  • Develops plant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for process and equipment operation.
  • Provides training as required to manufacturing personnel in relevant manufacturing processes.
  • Works with Quality personnel on various projects.
  • Manages external contractors and in accordance to all site regulations and standards.
  • Works with Accounting personnel to develop annual budget.
  • Ensures plant permitted emission control devices are operating in accordance to manufacture specifications.
  • Must be proficient with computers and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project).
  • Ability to apply SPC, DOE, Lean/Six Sigma, mathematics and statistics to solve complex manufacturing process problems.
  • Some knowledge of computer based data acquisition. Ability to analyze process data to understand and improve manufacturing process control.
  • Ability to interpret and generate P &ID drawings.
  • Highly self-motivated and self directed.



Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • BS Engineering degree required (prefer Chemical or Mechanical) from an accredited college.
  • 3 years work experience in Process Engineering.
  • Basic understanding of heat exchangers, vessels and pumps.
  • Ability to work in a team environment that supports chemical manufacturing processes.
  • AutoCad experience is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret and generate P &ID drawings.
  • Highly self-motivated and self directed.
  • Lean Six Sigma Training is a plus.
  • This position requires access to export -controlled information, therefore only US Persons (e.g. US Citizen, US Permanent Resident) may be considered for this position.
