Vantage is currently looking for a Security Guard to work at our downtown Monroe location from 11:00AM – 8:00PM, Monday through Friday.

Job Summary: The goal of the Security Guard is to detect, deter, observe, and report. The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of the company’s employees, visitors, assets, and premises by establishing and maintaining a high visibility security presence and responding appropriately to safety and security threats. The Security Guard should professionally represent Vantage and operate within the law at all times.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide surveillance for and patrol designated locations in accordance with outlined security procedures

• Respond to emergencies and incidents at designated locations promptly and according to policy

• Prevent theft and/or damage through attentive observation and detection of any suspicious or criminal behavior

• Monitor alarms and security systems, investigating and responding appropriately to disturbances

• Address and deescalate tense situations and/or conflict

• Apprehend and detain violators according to protocol

• Escalate situations to law enforcement when appropriate

• Communicate with law enforcement, fire department, and emergency medical personnel as needed

• Complete accurate and comprehensive incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents

• Identify potential security risks and respond/report accordingly

Marginal Duties:

• Assist with events as needed

• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent 

• Previous security-related work experience preferred

• Ability to remain calm and decisive in any situation

• Ability to exercise objective judgement

• Excellent surveillance and observation skills

• Ability to operate security systems, emergency equipment, etc.

• Knowledgeable of public safety and security procedures/protocols within legal guidelines

• Trained in First Aid and self-defense

• Ability to operate standard office equipment and effectively navigate multiple computer programs

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Supervision Received: 

• Works under general supervision of the Safety and Loss Prevention Coordinator 

Working Conditions:

• This position operates in a professional office environment 

• This is a full-time position (40 hours/week)

• Overtime may be required 

• Travel may be required

The employee is regularly required to communicate with others via phone, email, etc. Occasionally, the employee is required to move up to 10 pounds and may, at times, be required to move up to 50 pounds.
