Purchasing Manager

My client is looking for a candidate to manage strategic supplier accounts to drive supplier relations, sales and margin improvements, supervise the procurement of all materials and supplies necessary for company operations, and establish practices and procedures.

Responsibilities:

·         Manage supplier relations and purchasing functions, developing and implementing company-wide purchasing systems, and tracking indirect purchases

·         Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy, continuously reducing costs by employing standard purchasing practices

·         Oversee daily activity in the Purchasing Department

·         Responsible for formulating and developing coordinated supplier strategies in line with product strategies to optimize pricing terms with suppliers

·         Manage strategic supplier accounts to drive supplier relations

·         Reviews purchasing reports and implements strategies to achieve gross profit goals

·         Identifies, evaluates and performs risk assessment on potential suppliers

·         Negotiates product pricing with suppliers

·         Promotes cross-functional exchange of information and open communication

·         Monitor when raw material usage has changed and research and communicate why

·         Monitor daily inventory reorder list by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives

·         Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation

·         Internal audits with supplier

·         Serves as a company resource on supplier information

Qualifications:

·         Proven purchasing experience

·         Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements

·         Works effectively with all levels of management, personnel, customers, and suppliers

·         Demonstrates leadership and decision-making skills

·         Possesses excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills

·         Prioritizes and assigns tasks to appropriate personnel

·         Creates and maintains strong positive relationships both internally and externally
