Conducts sales and marketing activities consistent with Canam’s mission, values and sales department’s financial objectives.
Ø Enacts strategy and objectives established by Sales Manager.
Ø Compiles lists of prospective customers and projects available for bid using newspapers, business directories, Dodge report and other sources (i.e. established customers).
Ø Prepares and submits and negotiates bid proposals.
Ø Follows up on all proposals.
Ø Monitors activities and pricing levels of competitors.
Ø Travels throughout territory calling on existing as well as prospective customers.
Ø Maintains presence in the market through trade shows, associations, and industry events.
Ø Directs and promotes new product lines and special products.
Ø Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective manner with customers, co-workers, clients and supervisors.
Ø Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Engineering, or Business curriculum preferred.
Ø Two years’ experience in sales preferred or equivalent combination of education or industry experience.
Ø Knowledge and understanding of building construction and concepts presented on architectural and engineering drawings preferred.
Ø Ability to use computer software for pricing and marketing required.
Ø Effective written and verbal communications skills and exceptional negotiation skills.
Ø Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest and profit margin.
Ø Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry and trigonometry.
Ø Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
