Background: The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to establish a contract for the provision of physician services. USP Lee is a high security facility housing approximately 1600 federal male inmates. SPC Lee is an adjacent facility that houses approximately 120 minimum security male inmates.
Place of Performance: USP and SPC facilities located in Lee County, Federal Bureau of Prison, Pennington Gap, Virginia
Period of Performance: 1 Base Year with 4 Option Year Periods
Schedule: 7:40am – 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, no including federal holidays
● Valid and Unrestricted Medical License in the U.S.
● Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal or Family Medicine or Primary Care
● Active BLS Certification
Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
The evaluation and treatment of patients during routine chronic care clinics, A&O examinations, and sick call encounters, and will assist as needed during medical emergencies. He/she will document accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record and will have all documentation completed by the end of the work day. Any recommendations for further diagnostic testing and/or treatment will be made in the appropriate section of the electronic record, pending review by the Utilization Review Committee. Contractor(s) services will be reviewed by the Clinical Director and Health Services Administrator.
