The Tampa office of Benchmark International is now seeking business professionals to join our deal origination team. This position involves maintaining relationships with business owners that have held a meeting with a Benchmark International Director about selling their business. Account Managers stay in constant contact with prospective clients to ensure that when they are making a decision to hire a sell-side representing firm, Benchmark International is their first choice. No Cold Calling!

This role will allow you to learn about the M&A process from beginning to end so that you can educate business owners on current market trends and what to expect through the sales process. You will learn about many different industries, especially pertaining to mergers and acquisitions within each sector and Benchmark International's experience in each sector.
Benchmark International is growing rapidly and this role contributes directly to the growth of the entire company. You will not be expected to have any particular M&A knowledge to start but must have a keen interest in growing your knowledge-base in this exciting field of business. You will have a chance to learn from some of the most experienced and successful deal makers in the industry to improve your skills and advance your career. There are many exciting opportunities to grow from this position as it requires you to become an expert on explaining the functions of several divisions of the business.
Within this role you will be working alongside other account managers and Directors to target business owners within an assigned region. You will be assigned tasks as the life cycle of a potential client develops so that we give each of them the necessary attention. Your specific duties will include:
- Connecting with business owners that have previously met with Benchmark International.
- Sending emails to potential clients to display proof of Benchmark International’s success and recent market activity.
- Maintaining a professional LinkedIn page as a means to connect and share information with business owners within our target market.
- Asking probing questions to business owners to understand their decision making process.
- Maintaining short-term and long-term relationships with potential clients.
- Researching various market trends to educate business owners within specific industries on recent M&A activity and rationale for acquisitions.
- Maintaining communication records and preparing reports of results.
- Discovering challenges for potential clients and designing solutions.
- Meeting or exceeding all sales and performance goals.
