A national healthtech company has retained The Boston Group to identify an Oncology Medical Director for its Chicago clientele, supporting its leading-edge oncology decision support platform. The software is the industry’s most comprehensive oncology solution—combining genomic sequencing and population health management for evidenced-based treatment and decision support for oncologists, resulting in improved clinical outcomes. This is a pivotal role with the Medical Director serving as key interface between payer clients, local oncologists and the leader of peer-to-peer discussion regarding treatment decisions at point of care. The Medical Director will also serve as the primary clinical consultant to the Chicago market and oversee a comprehensive treatment library of evidence based treatment regimens, new protocols and clinical trials. This is a work-from-home opportunity with regular travel to Chicago (a few times per month) to be client-facing, ensuring alignment around delivery of the highest quality care to the patient and prompt attention to questions, issues and concerns. Seeking an experienced MedOnc ready to step away from panel duties, charting, RVUs and call schedules while still playing a critical role in oncology through technology solutions.

 

DUTIES for ONCOLOGY MEDICAL DIRECTOR:

·   Oversee medical policies for the clinical library

·   Ensure treatments comply with evidence-based medicine and best practices, including use of off-label drugs and clinical trials

·   Function as a medical liaison between the clinical content team and the CMO

·   Trusted adviser and first point of contact for client medical directors

·   Key leader working with oncology NP team, which reviews treatment plans, medical records, data integrity and payer reporting

·   Demonstrate, quantify and articulate the purpose of the platform to reinforce value, competitive advantage and clinical edge

·   Work with cross-functional teams to support the development of clinical software and the design, testing and implementation of current and future oncology products

REQUIREMENTS for MEDICAL ONCOLOGISTS:

·   Authorized to work in the United States

·   Board Certified Medical Oncologist Physician with active license

·   Able to provide thought leadership and deep MedOnc expertise from clinical practice

·   Stellar client-facing skills, ability to lead peer-to-peer sessions

·   Tech-savvy and passionate about the role of technology in cancer care
