Senior Director, Financial Planning & Operations

The Senior Director, Financial Planning and Operations will research, gather and prepare analyses for a broad range of reports and departmental areas including monthly financial and operational reporting and analysis, financial planning, staff and non-staff related expenses, and revenue reporting to support the sales team. The position is responsible for preparing quarterly and monthly financial and strategic presentations to the leadership team for Board of Directors meetings. The Director will lead the annual budget process and provide budget preparation support to the various functional groups within the organization. In addition, will manage all banking relationships, payment processing, back-up servicing, and benefit/HR provider – PEO. The Director will also be involved with proactively developing and implementing process and system improvements and participating in and/or leading special projects as assigned.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities

Primary duties include but not limited to the following:

·       Manage banking relationships for trust and operational accounts including payment processing

·       Manage external benefit provider (PEO) and HR system vendor

·       Serve as liaison between external accounting/CPA resources and the company

·       Lead back-up servicing clients and opportunities including monthly financial reporting and servicer reports

·       Preparation of monthly and quarterly Board of Directors presentations, including financial and strategic analyses

·       Monthly business reporting package utilized by management and leadership team

·       Develop weekly KPI reports utilizing NetSuite system. Understand market drivers, mix, volume, and industry drivers

·       Analyze SG&A expenses, headcount, and capital expenditures on a departmental basis for review with respective department leader

·       Work closely with management in identifying and generating financial and operational analyses that provide insight into business. Work with other departments in order to better understand finances and operational issues

·       Provide ad hoc reporting and support the operations and sales personnel on special projects (financial modeling, reporting, profit analyses, etc.)

·       Key liaison between finance and operations personnel

·       Periodic reports and metrics for operations personnel


·       Provide insightful and detailed analyses and reports in support of the Sales team to ensure targets and goals are met





Qualifications/Experience: MUST HAVE STRONG ANALYSIS EXPERIENCE.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar field required
  • 4+ years of experience demonstrating strong conceptual understanding of finance, with an emphasis financial services industry
  • 5+ years working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst in the Accounts Receivable Management, 3rd Party Collection industries highly preferred
  • Expertise managing external relationships including operational and trust accounts with banks, and payment processors
  • Management experience of finance operational resources in support of clients
  • Technical understanding of data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, PowerPivot, Power BI, etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (NetSuite, Excel, SPSS, SAS, Power BI, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to report findings and recommendations to various management levels within the Company and external contacts (Clients, Banks, Vendors, PEO, etc.)
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
