Growing healthcare company in Madison WI is looking to grow their AR team. They are seeking an Account Receivable Specialist that has worked in the healthcare industry. This position will work closely with the AR Manager and other teams. Candidate must work well independently and on a team.
Responsible for researching short/over payments to ensure claims are processed per contract. Responsible for documenting claim status in the current electronic medical record. Identified balances that should be billed to another government or non-government agency. Identify billing errors trends to increase collections. Works closely with the Benefit Verification team to ensure accuracy of payor and benefit quotes, so that we are collecting from the accurate payor. Work with Vice President, Finance or Manager, Billing Assurance to set-up electronic billing for claims and check for claim status when access is available. Verify patient eligibility in accordance with procedures. Verify payment status on a regular basis. Follow-up on denials immediately, performing the necessary steps for a claim to be paid. Re-bill claims with corrections immediately upon notification of denial. Communicate concerns, weaknesses or ways to improve the AR process. Communicate directly and in a constructive manner to other co-workers when situations arise. Participate in performance improvement committees and groups when issues pertain to AR. Prepare reports for administrative staff as assigned, utilizing the computer data system. Submits monthly aging status reports to the AR Manager on a monthly basis, with a summary of what actions are taking place to ensure collections. Maintain confidentiality of any private healthcare information and any proprietary information for the company. Maintain vendor files and administer monthly AR functions for the Hospice in accordance with policy and standard accounting practices. Other related duties as assigned
High School diploma or equivalent. Must have 3 years of experience with collections or working in a healthcare organization. Computer skills necessary for data management and billing. Demonstrate an ability to work closely with a variety of people while effectively using problem-solving skills.
