Contract to hie position for a large pharmaceutical company. 

"We are looking for someone with flexibility. The scheduled shifts can vary depending on the number of clinical trials we are running at a given time."

Job Summary: 

The role of Paramedic is to serve as an integral member of the site and study teams in all 

study/participant-related matters on the conduct floor. 

Essential Functions 

• Performs conduct procedures in strict compliance to the study protocol, Good Clinical 

Practice standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), QA/QC procedures, OSHA 

guidelines and other state and local regulations as applicable 

• Provides assistance in the monitoring of the well-being and safety of study participants 

during a clinical trial 

• Administers concomitant medications as directed by the physician 

• Provides ongoing assessment of the study subject/patient to identify Adverse Events 

(AEs), ensures proper documentation and reporting of all AEs and Serious Adverse 

Events (SAEs) 

• Provides clinical care to study participants in the event of a medical emergency 

• Provides administrative and operational support to ensure successful conduct of study 




• One to two (1-2) years of experience as a Paramedic 

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a 

satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above 

Certification/Licensure: ACLS/ ALS preferred 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Other pertinent qualifications/skills/knowledge necessary to 

perform the essential functions of the job) 

• Able to obtain vital signs, perform ECGs, and collect samples 

• Able to perform telemetry and insertion of intravenous catheters 

• Possesses phlebotomy skills 

• Able to provide excellent customer service 

• Able to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing with 

participants from diverse backgrounds 

• Able to work independently and handle multiple competing priorities 

• Able to multi-task working within tight deadlines 

• Able to function independently within a team environment 

• Possesses excellent organizational and time-management skills and a strong attention to 


• Able to read, speak, and write English fluently 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Incumbents in this class are 

subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting 

materials and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. 

Physical Demands: 

• Bending and leaning up to 1.5 hours, changing positions approximately every 2 minutes 

• Variable hours including nights and weekends
