Job Description

  • Lead and coordinate activities of production, quality, tooling, and maintenance teams(managers, supervisors, operators) to achieve efficient production processes 
  • Work with engineering teams to continuously improve technology in the plant and develop short term and long term capital projects
  • Implement robot based automation to address difficult operating conditions
  • Launch new products and processes with APQP teams
  • Lead shop floor continuous improvement philosophy based on lean manufacturing concepts
  • Develop annual departmental production budgets including staffing, operating supplies, training, and maintenance
  • Establish action plans to achieve budget targets and organizational goals and cascade them to daily objectives at every level
  • Convert backlog, sales demand and forecasts to operational plans and adjust production schedules to fluctuations in demand
  • Coach and develop managers and supervisors in various functional roles
  • Work with the HR Manager to develop and administer shop floor performance management systems
  • Ensure compliance to OSHA and EPA requirements
  • Drive safety culture through preventive actions, communication, and  training
  • Monitor and control variances to budget and report deviations through executive summaries
  • Analyze plant performance and implement corrective actions
  • Develop work standards and practices with respective operational teams in production, quality, and maintenance
  • Attack waste on a daily basis to improve OEE: scrap, downtime, rework, and increased cycle times
  • Oversee IATF/ISO systems and registrations

Job Requirements

  • BS in Engineering field
  • 10 years of hands-on operational roles in manufacturing
  • Expertise in Production Planning and resource management
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment like presses, induction heaters, machining centers
  • Knowledge of metalworking processes like forging, casting, and machining
  • Knowledge of materials and metallurgy
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills
  • Working knowledge of lean concepts - 5S, TPM, Poka-Yoke, Flow, Kanban, Kaizen, Andon etc. 
  • Project management skills
  • Understand financial accounting concepts and financial statements
