Job Description

Major New York City Retailer is seeking Help Desk Consultants for a Consulting project 3 months, could go longer.

Job Function

Provide on-site support

Troubleshoot systems issues as needed and outside consultants or vendors, if required

Work with manager to distribute and install software and application upgrades

Coordinate service calls for devices such as printers, faxes and phone systems

Monitor store systems performance; monitor store daily backup and storage of monthly backup tapes

Set up new PC’s for store and warehouse use; move or rearrange PC’s and equipment as store issues mandate

Work with management and POS personnel to resolve sales and register issues as it relates to Cegid

Set up and maintain extra POS stations for bi-annual store sale

Maintain a daily record of servers companywide, while troubleshooting, reporting and logging trends that may adversely affect the system

Install, configure and troubleshoot Lotus Notes for new users

Troubleshoot any server related problems; work with technical services and support center to resolve Help Desk issues

Install and upgrade peripherals as required

Ensure server applications are functioning nationwide, such as: ArcServe – Powerchute – NT event viewer

Train users on laptop and remote laptop usage

Assist Support Center Manager and other IT Managers with the development and completion of special projects

Report any wide area connection problems (phone, data TI’s) and coordinate with the Managers on resolving the issue

Support Center Help Desk has 50% of the timing handling 1st line support issues (Cegid, telephone, email, etc.)

Work with IS Manager to distribute and install software and application upgrades


Job Requirements

Need to be able to:

·         Image a computer (hard drive)

·         Onboarding people, account creation- Active Directory, Outlook, O365

·         About 50% on the phone, remote support

·         Retail POS support experience ideal, but trainable  

·         Mobile iOS support experience ideal, but trainable
