The Installed Base Engineer role will problem solve, develop, document, and implement product quality related improvements by working cross functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
Manage product quality improvement projects from concept to implementation. Engage in all phases of product redesign for improvement, including concept, prototypes, test, documentation, supplier interfaces, and manufacturing introduction.
Own and execute documentation under engineering change control process as part of the quality management system. This includes utilizing electronic documentation tools to route, review, and release documentation.
Troubleshoot and triage issues in manufacturing setting to resolve problems.
Write design verification/validation plan, perform testing, and write verification/validation report.
Works within a cross functional team of engineering, manufacturing, and quality team to develop and implement solutions.
Seeks mentoring to learn and solve problems, and to develop technical competency required for this position.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering and/or manufacturing setting.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task.
Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills.
Project management experience.
Eager to learn and solve problems.
Quality Specific Goals:
Aware of and comply with the client Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.
Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
Master’s degree in Engineering.
Minimum 4 years of experience in highly technical engineering and/or manufacturing setting.
Demonstrated design verification and validation and product design experience.
Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets.
Global project experience interfacing with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Prior experience in medical device industry.
