Legal Specialist I

A large telecommunications company is seeking an experienced Legal Specialist for a 6+ months contract assignment in St Louis.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing support to the Legal Response Operations Center (LEROC). It specializes in receiving and uploading subpoenas, search warrants, court orders and other legal process. Duties include responding to calls, email and fax requests providing instruction, information and status of requests. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. 
  • Analyze and upload incoming subpoenas, search warrants, court orders and other compulsory legal process to ensure proper service. 
  • Answer LEROC phone and email responding to legal process and online tool utilization questions and issues. 
  • Input information and data utilizing various databases and subpoena tracking systems. 
  • Serve as liaison for internal clients, law enforcement, law firms, local, state and federal agencies and subscribers. 
  • Perform complex administrative duties by identifying and resolving routine legal issues under the supervision of team lead and manager. 
  • Performs other duties as required 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience 
  • 1-3 years legal or law enforcement experience. Prior experience analyzing information for investigative purposes and dealing with law enforcement and attorneys a plus. 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, writing, and proofreading skills 
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and work independently as well as in a team environment 
  • Familiarity with the criminal and civil court process 
  • Knowledge of cable and telecommunications products and services
