This position is a department management role with the overall accountability for providing leadership, direction, and administration for day-to-day clinical and administrative activities associated with the Emergency Department. These responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the functions of the Emergency Department in accordance with the Nursing department strategic plan, Federal, State, and TJC standards.
Must have an in-depth knowledge of EMTALA requirements. Responsible for initiating, supporting and modeling a service-oriented culture focused on employee engagement, quality, patient safety, service excellence, fiscal responsibility, and the overall patient experience. Serves as a member of the department management team and fulfills the role of the ER Director under the supervisor of the Chief Nursing Officer.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare/Business related field is a plus.
License Required: Candidate must be licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Florida in accordance with Florida State law and regulations.
Certification(s) Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications are required (AHA); TNCC required; CCRN and/or CEN desirable; will allow up to one year after hire to obtain these qualifications.
Experience: Minimum of five years' related experience and/or training with at least three years of progressive charge and supervisor duties in Emergency Department Nursing Practice.
