One of our organizational goals is to attract and maintain healthcare professionals who help us contribute to improving the health of our community and living the HRMC mission. Our 10-bed, state-of-the-art ED with a fully-integrated EHR provides care for 16,500 patients per year.


This position is a department management role with the overall accountability for providing leadership, direction, and administration for day-to-day clinical and administrative activities associated with the Emergency Department. These responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the functions of the Emergency Department in accordance with the Nursing department strategic plan, Federal, State, and TJC standards.


Must have an in-depth knowledge of EMTALA requirements. Responsible for initiating, supporting and modeling a service-oriented culture focused on employee engagement, quality, patient safety, service excellence, fiscal responsibility, and the overall patient experience. Serves as a member of the department management team and fulfills the role of the ER Director under the supervisor of the Chief Nursing Officer. 

We desire a proven experience and track record of strong nursing leadership that is customer-focused, exhibits a passion for Nursing, pursues continuous improvement, and advocates for patients and clinical viewpoints. The essential characteristics for this position include professionalism, vision, collaboration, critical thinking, humor, and the ability to inspire pride and compassion in Nursing.


Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare/Business related field is a plus.


License Required: Candidate must be licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Florida in accordance with Florida State law and regulations.


Certification(s) Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications are required (AHA); TNCC required; CCRN and/or CEN desirable; will allow up to one year after hire to obtain these qualifications.


Experience: Minimum of five years' related experience and/or training with at least three years of progressive charge and supervisor duties in Emergency Department Nursing Practice.
