Growing and well respected global Commercial Insurance company is adding two Commercial Lines Account Specialists to staff in the regional office in Cincinnati. This is a really nice organization to work for with a collaborative spirit and outstanding reputation within the brokerage community. Summary Supports the Underwriting Department by providing clients with high quality and timely service which includes: rating policies based on policy information received; appropriately applying rates, factors and coding necessary for issuing, endorsing, renewing or canceling commercial lines insurance policies, according to established procedures and authority.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Processes documents and requests received for commercial policy issuance, changes, renewals, cancellations and reinstatements. Determines and calculates premiums for input into the rating system according to established Company procedures in a timely and accurate manner. Effective communication, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers to obtain and relay information needed to process policies. Reviews all transactions processed to ensure accuracy. Willingness to share knowledge and expertise by participating in new departmental and/or company initiatives. Could include, but not be limited to training of others and partnering with IT and/or National Operations on testing of new systems and/or enhancements. Conversely, be receptive to others' experience and expertise in an effort to further self-development. Performs quality control on other peers as directed. Assist underwriters and/or Team Leaders by performing underwriting support functions and duties such as updating/processing reports, developing or revising spreadsheets, and loss run evaluation in a timely manner. Maintain current knowledge of Business Center goals, underwriting/rating procedures and system changes. Process Ocean Marine invoices to ensure proper and timely billing of premium. Other duties as assigned. 

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required along with a minimum of 3 years commercial insurance experience and prior property casualty rating experience. Familiarity and experience with policy forms, coverage and classification is preferred.
