We have an immediate contract opening for a Compensation Specialist. This position is approved until the end of the year. The work location is in South Philadelphia at the Navy Yard near the sports complex.

Pay Rate: $31.94/Hr. 


Description:

The US Compensation Specialist provides support to the HR Support Centre, US Recruitment, HR Business Leaders, Reward Centre of Excellence and HRD/HRMs in the US. As part of a team of seven US Compensation professionals, you will also support requests from managers and employee via the case management tool (Remedy) to provide guidance, counsel and training on a variety of US Compensation activities. 
A thorough knowledge of Compensation principles, regulations, techniques and good practice, and the ability to integrate with broader HR policies and objectives. Candidate should ideally have worked in a US Compensation role previously. 
• Superior analytical and reporting skills – ability to organize, analyses and interpret data using statistical techniques 
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills; ability to handle high volumes of multiple tasks and priorities whilst remaining calm under pressure 
• Proven ability to ‘story tell’ based on data analysis to embed the Client’s Reward offering 
• Possess the confidence and empathy required to cope with highly sensitive cases 
• Deliver the job evaluation process, maintenance, and cataloguing using established benchmarking and quantitative/qualitative assessment processes 
• Will work with the team to conduct the annual Performance and Reward (P&R) cycle, using Workday, including managing manual processes and resolve queries during Performance & Reward using Workday 
• Maintain a proactive interest in industry trends and innovation 
• Improve analytical and data management strategies that optimize data quality and effectiveness 
• Provide thorough Compensation advice, guidance and data analysis to provide a ‘Total Reward’ flawless customer experience and help embed the IPT agenda 
• Perform transaction activity as required in Workday 
• Maintain external matching using Market Data Systems and attend survey meetings, provide submissions to US surveys 
• Lead small projects and/or discrete work streams within larger/global projects 
• Share insights, knowledge and best practice picked up through cases, general reading and networking efforts during regular team meetings. 


Education:

• Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience 
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivots, V-Lookups, Excel Formulas and Functions) 
• Ability to exercise mathematics at a competency level to perform percentile calculations, inter-quartile ranges, standard deviation, range differentials, and algebraic formulas in the manipulation of large amounts of quantitative data. 
• Working knowledge of Compensation principles, regulations and policies and ability to integrate with broader HR policies and objectives. 
• Good written and oral communications, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely. 
• Good analytical skills with the ability to manipulate data and draw insights from the information. 
• World at Work or CCP certification preferred 
• Knowledge of the principles behind positioning Reward; the mix of pay components as a part of employee value proposition, the basic philosophy of methods behind market positioning and job evaluation, and the legal and regulatory environment in which compensation must operate to remain compliant with applicable law e.g. FLSA. 
• Experience of delivering presentations / Q&A sessions .
