Job Description

 

Quality Engineer

Up to $65K DOE

 

Pinnacle Partners is assisting our client with the search for a fulltime direct hire Quality Engineer for their facility on the north side of Indianapolis.  Experience in the automotive industry is highly preferred.  The successful candidate will add support to the engineering team by assisting the Quality Department team, and ensuring quality of product.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate, direct and perform production quality engineering support activities

  • Write or renew control plans and other documentation

  • Coordinate, direct and perform APQP activities

  • Conduct design reviews

  • Collect and coordinate PPAP documentation

  • Plan, direct and coordinate product test requirements and test lab activities

  • Implement Poka Yoke and other error proofing to reduce variation and improve process capability and optimize process settings

  • Evaluate reject sheets and parts problems to determine root cause and appropriate corrective action

  • Implement and maintain controls on critical characteristics on process and product

  • Maintains IATF/ISO Compliance by providing direction and supervision for document changes and control plans

  • Perform internal system and process audits

  • Issue internal and external corrective actions

  • Monitor and review 8-D’s; ensures permanent corrective action implementation

  • Develop strong working relationship and high level of trust with suppliers

  • Respond to customer concerns promptly and with strong sense of urgency

  • Manage customer relationships to ensure win/win communication

  • Influence and negotiate with customers, suppliers, team members; assume Voice of the Customer, but also maintain positive company relations and position

     

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or quality related discipline

  • Have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer

  • Have basic understanding of quality systems, including a working knowledge of IATF/ISO standards
