Job Description

Johnson Service Group is actively seeking a Component Release Engineer in Noblesville, IN for a direct hire opportunity. This individual will be responsible for design and release of components and sub-assemblies. This position requires the engineer to work as part of a matrixed engineering organization to design and release products. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Understand design parameters surrounding Rotating Electric Machine components and materials
  • Create design standards such as: Design Criteria checklists, Design calculation standards, Design Review material; approve and maintain and present these documents as necessary
  • Perform engineering analysis on components and present rationale to program team
  • Perform component and sub-system performance simulations with MatLab and/or other software
  • Create and maintain DFMEAs for components
  • Create technical criteria for supplier selection and participate in the selection process  
  • Technical liaison between suppliers, engineering, customers, and GSM
  • Work with suppliers and internal manufacturing to assure feasibility of designed components


Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Material Science required
  • Master degree preferred
  • 5 years engineering experience required; but preference will be given to those with 5 or more years of engineering experience. 8+ years’ experience is ideal.
  • Engineering experience in E-Motor, E-Machine, or Electric Drive Module Product Design & Development strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of FMEA, DFM/DFA and APQP required
  • Strong competency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. required
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and/or 8D Problem Solving preferred
  • Knowledge of GD&T required
  • Knowledge of MatLab and/or other simulation software
