Long Island electronics manufacturing company needs a talented senior level mechanical engineer or manager to coordinate and manage all the mechanical engineering tasks in bringing new products to market, or in making engineering changes to existing products.
Working closely with Project and Program Managers, manage mechanical engineering staff in electronics packaging to meet military or other specifications and standards. Will review contracts to determine project mechanical requirements, plan assigned engineering work, oversee and train staff engineers to ensure compliance with engineering standards. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to meet project objectives.
Will prepare for preliminary and critical design reviews, participate in project meetings with other engineering groups.
Masters in Mechanical Engineering preferred, BSME required. Should have at least 10 years’ experience overall, with a steady increase in responsibilities over time. Must have a demonstrated track record of lead engineering or management responsibilities. You are expected to have strong technical knowledge about the mechanical aspects of electronics products, particularly 3-D modeling, and thermal or vibration analysis using SolidWorks. You should be very familiar with designs, and design practices, which meet military or aerospace requirements.
