We have an immediate opening for a Practice Specialist to join our Law Firm Recruiting Group in New York
The Sourcing Specialist, known as a Practice Specialist (PS) at MLA, is part of the Partner Practice Group at MLA. The PS connects with Partner level attorneys to begin a dialogue about new career opportunities, to discuss a pre-determined law firm need, or to provide legal market insight. The goal of the Practice Specialist is to both strategically source and begin the process of building long-term relationships with lawyers in the New York area. The Practice Specialist works as a team together with highly successful Recruiters and is responsible for setting up meetings for any potential candidates interested in next steps.
The PS will collaborate with a team of recruiters to determine the strategy for each call campaign. With an understanding of the strategy, the PS will conduct preliminary research in our database to identify appropriate attorneys to call. The PS then reaches out to these attorneys to build rapport and relationships, and ideally introduces interested candidates to his or her team. The PS schedules introductory meetings for recruiters, ensures follow-up actions are completed, and records information about the candidate in our database.
Compensation is a competitive base salary, plus commissions, plus health care coverage, and full benefits.

BA/BS degree required (communications, social work, psychology, marketing, theatre arts, or business major would translate well).
Phone sales experience desirable.
Experience working in a corporate setting.
Confident phone demeanor and ability to communicate with high level professionals.
Pleasant phone voice and strong interpersonal skills.
Comfortable and competent cold calling and communicating with senior level attorney candidates.
