  • JOB SUMMARY

    We are seeking a Construction Inspector in our Rhode Island location, for performing construction inspections and completing required reports.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties.

  • Must be able to work with contractor personnel and various stakeholders to assure work conforms to project plans, specs and approved submittals.
  • Attend meetings related to assigned construction projects.
  • Job specific quality system tasks as defined in the project manual.
  • Assist with the preparation of written reports and documentation.
  • Assist with coordination of required project acceptance testing.
  • Perform materials inspection and acceptance prior to installation.
  • Keep chief inspector and/or resident engineer informed of project progress.
  • Perform specific installation tasks, field measurements and duties as assigned.
  • Must comply with company mandated safety policies.
  • QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Basic math skills to assist with measurements and computations of installed quantities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fundamental understanding of construction.
  • Ability to read plans and understand project specifications.
  • PROJECT SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE: (ONLY INCLUDE IF APPLICABLE)

    DOT experience a plus.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management required.
  • 4-8 years of experience in a construction environment.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES:

  • NICET II, III or IV
  • EIT or CCM
