Summary : Responsible for the overall clinical management of the practice and program assigned to the practice as above, including direct supervision of all providers ( Medical , and monitoring the practice and on site programs for meeting the organizations productivity goals,

quality performance measures, regulatory compliance, and research initiatives. Responsible for maintain a clinical practice at the assigned site. Allocation of administrative and clinical time is dependent upon the size and range of programs at the site

Management Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of all providers who are assigned to this practice as their primary site
  • Performs Bi-annual evaluation of Specialist providers or other providers as assigned by Medical Director who are assigned to this practice as their primary site, and their annual competency evaluations
  • Organizes and develop quality related reviews and initiatives to improve population management and gap in care management
  • Participates in monthly leadership management meetings
  • Monitors monthly, as assigned by medical director
  • Provider Productivity, Provider Quality Performance (Peer Review and Clinical Registries), Provider Evaluation at practice sites, Regulatory Compliance of the practice sites (Joint Commission, NCQA), include review of Open encounters, and attached providers in box for review of compliance of results in box
  • Assists in the supervision of clinical performance or impact of any research programs operating at these sites when appropriate
  • Collaborates with Nursing, Social Work and Administrative managers of the practice in the hiring and evaluation of practice staff, (and in reviewing of all patient complaints, incidents, assists in the EOC rounds of the practice)
  • Communicates with their supervising regional medical directors regarding needs or requests of providers or practice staff
  • Attends regional or organizational meetings as assigned.
  • Attends the Clinical Director’s Group (CDG) meetings
  • Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining an active medical practice of assigned clinical sessions Demonstrates competency in following areas:

  • Demonstrates good fundamental knowledge of established clinical practice and use of Evidence Based Medicine
  • Applicant has sound clinical judgment.

  • Keeps current with the medical literature

  • Compliance with IFH Policy and Regulations

  • Demonstrates and understanding of health care systems and the ability to apply this knowledge to improve and optimize health care.
  • Advocates for quality of care on behalf of patients and the organization Demonstrates appropriate use of health system resources

Practiced-Based Learning and Improvements:

  • Uses scientific evidence and methods to investigate, evaluate and improve patient care Demonstrates acceptable use of organization’s best practice alerts, quality improvement initiatives, core measures compliance, and use of EBM
  • Demonstrates knowledge of CQI activities at IFH

Teaching and Training:

  • Precepts residents, medical students, and other health professional trainees as appropriate
  • Participation in Mount Sinai Family Medicine Residency in Harlem Faculty Meetings as appropriate


Graduate of an accredited medical school and an accredited residency program.


Demonstrates effective supervisory skills of clinicians

Demonstrates superior clinical skills

Demonstrates effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, and conflict management skills

Demonstrates basic computer skills

Demonstrates ability to organize care/ activities of multiple tasks simultaneously. Previous clinical supervisory experience preferred.


NY State Medical License

Board Admissible to respective specialty board

Current BCLS

Current DEA Certificate

Position includes administrative support time and added financial add on according to established organizational scale.

  • Coordinate medical staff continuing medical education activities
  • Provide specialized medical treatment and apply medical specialty to the total medical treatment program
  • Maintain medical staff credentialing information
  • Manage the medical/surgical patient
  • Execute medical strategy plan including medical activities such as advisory boards, medical congress symposia and other medical education projects
  • Provide general management of medical care
  • Provide high quality medical care to patients
  • Selecting new medical staff members
  • Ensuring that medical staff functions related to medical staff meetings, medical staff credentialing, and medical staff support are provided in accordance with TJC, CMS
  • Review medical aspects of claims and advise claims staff of medically relevant information
  • Provide medical oversight to and serve as medical monitor for sponsored clinical trials
  • Direct delivery of participant medical care
  • Provide clinical sciences with medical evaluation support
  • Provide medical review of clinical trial data
  • Engage all clinical staff in the medical clinics
  • Coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care
  • Assist in securing medical records to better determine appropriate medical care for patients
  • Supervise the medical staff to assure optimal patient care and appropriate medical service delivery
  • Coordinate other related medical staff activities
  • Ensure optimal care management and medical review
