Senior Process Engineer
Our client is a global leader in the development of natural ingredients for the food, beverage, dietary supplements and agricultural industry. They pride themselves on developing and rewarding their employees and value their family-like culture. We have been retained to find a Sr. Process Engineer!
The Sr. Process Engineer is primarily responsible for safety, quality, yield and efficiency improvements. This person will manage engineering projects involving process, packaging and utility systems and provide technical support and improve existing manufacturing processes. In addition, this person acts as a liaison between corporate engineering, maintenance and operations for processes in the plant.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, and a minimum of five or more years of work experience within a process-driven manufacturing environment. A chemical engineering or mechanical engineering degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of liquid processing (pasteurization, homogenization, blending), powder handling (blending, packaging, dust collection), Food or Pharma facilities or Hygienic and aseptic design (CIP/SIP).
- Knowledge of troubleshooting processing equipment and start-up practices is critical. Systematic problem solving skills and methodologies is a plus.
- Possess strong verbal, written, communication, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Skilled at business problem solving, conflict resolution, influencing others and change management.
- Ability to work in local and global cross-functional environment.
- Experience with IT and automation implementations (PLCs and HMIs) in production and production-related areas preferred.
- Lean & Six Sigma training or certification, with the ability to use the Six Sigma methodologies, tools and statistical software preferred.
- May require travel up to 10%. Willingness to support international projects is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Drives improvements in safety, quality, yield and efficiency in the manufacturing plant.
- Participates on cross-functional and international teams for the on-going improvement of equipment and processes and other assignments.
- Acts as a technical resource to manufacturing, corporate engineering, sales and marketing, and R&D.
- Works with operators and supervisors to troubleshoot problems in the plant.
- Works with Corporate Engineering and Maintenance on projects and upgrades. Coordinates process work associated with large projects with Engineering. Consults with engineering and maintenance personnel relative to modification of machines, equipment and buildings to improve production and quality of products.
- Makes recommendations for use of equipment and improving equipment for production. Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
