Manufacturing Engineer Job Summary:

Our automotive supplier in Chattanooga is seeking a manufacturing engineer to work with the engineering and maintenance teams to maintain plant KPIs and improve existing facilities and equipment. This is a direct hire position, with eligibility for overtime pay. There is an opening on both 2nd and 3rd shift.

Job Requirements

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities :

  • Develop and participate in improvement activities regarding facilities and equipment
  • Project management of floor machinery activities
  • Continuous improvement of operations
  • Manufacturing line operation, cost, and delivery including introduction of new product lines and equipment
  • Support of maintenance activities relating to tooling and fixtures, carry out tooling audits
  • Provide counter measures to customer and operation issues
  • Participate in process audits and internal quality audit schedule

Manufacturing Engineer Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience as a manufacturing engineer in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent level of experience
  • Experience working with tooling products
  • Ability to make tooling adjustments
  • Mechanical design
  • Working knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and quality control
  • Ability to Interpret CMM Data
  • The manufacturing engineer MUST be able to read GD&T prints
  • **Body shop or chassis experience is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $28.00 to $34.00 /year

  • Manufacturing Engineering: 3 years (Preferred)
  • GD&T: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Tooling Adjustment: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Industrial Automotive: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Mechanical Design: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Mid-Day (Preferred)
  • Evening (Preferred)
  • Graveyard (Preferred)
