The Accounts Payable Accounting II will be responsible for ensuring all accounts payable are processed in a timely manner. The AP Specialist provides problem resolution and vendor relation services and assistance to program administrative assistants.
Essential Functions of Accounts Payable Accounting Technician II:
Perform duties in accordance with the accounting finance department. Complete duties accurately in accordance with agency policies and procedures and contract, regulatory requirements, standards and program timeline requirements. Draft general correspondence, memos, charts, etc. and proof final copies for clarity, spelling, grammar and layout. Meet all pre-determined deadlines required by department. Be compliant for finance/accounting responsibilities for the fiscal year. Ensure requisitions and invoices match and are properly authorized before processing. Set up payment schedule in AP system. Process weekly check run per open invoice report Match check with back up and follow delivery instructions on check stub Be reactive to time sensitive check requests Post to the general ledger Reconcile vendor accounts per statements Provide problem resolutions and vendor relation services Maintain and assist with PCard accounts Provide assistance to Program Administrative Assistance Assist with annual external and contract audits.
Responsibilities of Accounts Payable II:
Direct knowledge of Accounts Payable and General Ledger Mathematical ability Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Data Entry Proficient in spreadsheet, word processing and accounting software. Strong work ethic with a defined sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability for job duties. Superior attention to detail and meticulous record keeping tendencies. Superior organization skills Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while remaining organized and aware of all projects. Able to direct own workload and maintain accountability with deadlines. Provide support to accounting staff as requested. Knowledge in all Microsoft Office products (word, excel and Outlook) Participate in scheduled meetings, team decisions and operations.
