Job Title: Business analyst
Location: Rancho Cucamonga or Englewood



Description:
This role is responsible for maintaining correspondence outputs (Explanation of Benefits, Explanation of Payment, and claims related letters) and facilitating assigned change requests, while looking for opportunities to improve efficiency and member and provider experience. Partners with DMSS, IT, National and Regional Compliance, Medicare Administration, Marketing Communications, and other NCA claim teams for analysis/evaluation of business and/or system process and functional requirements, development of business cases, client support during system development and implementation, and the development and maintenance of service level agreements.
Independently initiates, investigates, documents, and analyzes client requirements. Develops relationships with upstream and downstream business partners. Develops/maintains and changes business processes and understands the business processes of assigned partners and how they relate to functional areas. Develops, leads, coordinates, and recommends changes to business processes as appropriate.


Essential Functions:
1. Document database & management infrastructure set-up and maintenance
2. Ad-Hoc issue resolution, hand-offs, and audit activity related to correspondence outputs
3. Support proactive ongoing reviews for quality, regulatory, and clear/simple language of all correspondence
4. Conducts workflows, process diagrams and gap analysis, and participates in the creation of Desk Level Procedures (DLPs) for key functional areas
5. Establish upstream partnership opportunities to reduce output failures and issues based on production/issue reports
6. Assesses scope and impact of client business needs.
7. Conducts and/or participates in the analysis of client business processes and functional requirements and in the preparation of appropriate documentation to communicate and validate the information.
8. Develop and manage relationships with stakeholders, peers and management
9. Participates in the operational analysis and testing of new functionalities related to outputs
10. Identifies opportunities for business and process improvement
11. Support other requests as assigned
12. May assist in the development of project plans and use the associated project planning tools


Minimum Education:
• Bachelor''s degree in business/health care administration or related discipline OR an additional four (4) years relevant experience.
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
Minimum Work Experience & Qualifications:


Basic Qualifications:
Minimum five (5) years of experience, to include a minimum two (2) years in a consulting role.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in a healthcare environment or other relevant environment.

Additional Requirements:
• May establish cross-functional task forces.
• Thorough knowledge of platforms of the assigned functional area and multi-area functionality based on assignment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to handle work from multiple sources and variable volumes
• General office and PC skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Attention to detail
• Strong Organizational Skills
Preferred work experience & qualifications:
Health care, customer service or claims background
