Job Description

Purpose:

CIBM Bank is looking for a personal banker to assist our customers in managing their bank accounts and finances.  This person will be responsible for building long-term relationships with customers, and cross-selling our products that best suit their needs.  He or she should be excellent communicators understand the financial role that CIBM Bank serves in the community, and have a customer-focused attitude.

 

Accountabilities:

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Identifying customer needs in order to appropriately recommend bank products and services.

  • Effectively communicating the benefits of recommended bank products and services.

  • Cross-selling CIBM Bank products and services to further client relations and enhance organizational profitability.

  • Processing new account transactions, including but not limited to, completing related documents, data input, receiving the initial deposit, and providing cash station/debit cards.

  • Contributing to the achievement of branch goals and participating in periodic sales campaigns.

  • Maintaining relationships with current customers and generating loan and deposit growth within the Bank’s risk guidelines.

  • Assisting customers with account inquiries by providing information and resolving issues.

  • Participating and representing the bank in community activities.

  • Providing administrative support to other retail and lending staff to meet the needs of the customer and assist in the sales efforts of the facility.

  • Strictly adhering to bank policies, procedures, and controls over customer transactions and security.

  • Attending product, sales, and compliance training as required.

  • Effectively and fluently communicating with customers, co-workers, and other business contacts within a culturally diverse work environment.

  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels by proactively participating and contributing to a positive work environment, controlling emotions and temperament, and exhibiting courteous, respectful, and professional behavior.

Job Requirements

Preferred Skills and/or Experience:

  • Approximately three years of experience in banking or a related field, knowledge of bank regulations, and proficiency in using computer software for typical office applications are preferred.

     

    Nature and Scope:

    This position is a regular full time position on a schedule established by the supervisor.  An altered work schedule and overtime are occasionally worked to meet the demands and deadlines associated with the position.  The work environment involves the use of typical office equipment such as telephone, computer, facsimile, etc. in a controlled climate.
