This position will be responsible for handling mechanical testing of trauma, cranio-maxillofacial, and biomaterials implants, instrumentation, and materials. This includes working with product development, quality, and other test engineers on test plans and protocols, fixture design, test set-up, and execution of mechanical tests. This will also include the writing of test summaries and reports under the mentorship of more senior staff.

Mechanical testing may include static and dynamic; product, material, environmental, wear, etc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct and support mechanical testing activities within the Research and Testing Laboratory
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate real-time results from testing activities
  • Aid in designing new test fixtures in support of new projects
  • Expand the capabilities within the laboratory utilizing research to develop new methodologies
  • Prepare test reports, develop and deliver data presentations
  • Practice and promote good practice and rigor in testing techniques and documentation in order to follow internal and external quality standards.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/ Experience :

  • A Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline is required, Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  • 1 year of electro-mechanical and servo-hydraulic testing system experience (MTS, Instron, or equivalent) is required
  • A self-starter who is not afraid of taking things apart and putting them back together
  • A strong communicator with the commitment to independently take on problems
  • Strong organizational skills to move from one project to the next in a dynamic environment.
  • Customer service oriented and ability to interact and communicate expertly with all levels within the organization.
  • Medical device industry experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ASTM and ISO medical device standards is a plus
  • BA degree is required
  • Compile test scripts into test procedures
  • Implement test procedures and test standards
  • Develop test scripts and test plans
  • Analyze test data to prepare test reports
  • Developing both automated test cases and manual test cases
  • Execute test scripts, test cases and test scenarios
  • Devise the test objectives, organization test policies, test strategies and test plans
  • Specifying test fixtures and critical test parameters
  • Analyzing the test data, writing test reports and presenting test results
  • Develop test methods to experimentally test hypothesis
  • Writing test procedures, designing test fixtures, and writing test reports
  • Prepare test plans and test reports for all tests
  • Develop manufacturing test specifications,Validate test systems
  • Develop test cases from requirements and test plans
  • Complete various testing per test plans
  • Create the test plan, test cases, test scripts and document results
  • Develop test specifications, test fixtures and systems, and automated test code using Labview test environment
  • Execute test scripts during internal system testing
  • Conduct tire test in a field test environment
  • Approve resolution of test deficiencies and test results
