Insurance Premium Auditor

RLD Associates, Inc. has an opening for a part-time home-based position as a field auditor in Long Island, NY. Travel will include the entirety of Manhattan. Travel should be anticipated weekly. A reliable vehicle is required. Overnight stays are not a requirement of this position.


EXPERIENCE PREFERRED.


Duties:

-Review audit requests

-Prioritize inventory and schedule workload

-Make contact to the named insured to schedule an audit appointment

-Travel to the appointment location

-Conduct on-site interviews and review of accounting records including payroll records, employment tax reports, general ledgers, and check registers

-Research of appropriate manual rules and classifications

-Prepare written audit reports to show analyzed data, calculations, and classifications


NOTE: Pay is on a billable hour basis, does not include travel and is determined by production. The rate for this area is $50 per billable hour.

The purpose of a premium audit is to review accounting records and conduct a thorough interview to validate the assignment of the insured's risk classification and the associated premium.

-Excellent communication skills

-Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

-Two-year degree in accounting or related subject is preferred (experience in bookkeeping and payroll preparation will be weighted heavily)

-Computer literate including use of Microsoft programs and scheduling applications

-Reliable transportation

-Compatible laptop with Microsoft Excel
