Job Description

Iowa State University Dining is seeking qualified candidates for a Manager Food Services I position. This position manages multiple retail facilities located throughout campus with annual sales of over $3 million. Supervises the service and onsite food production, marketing, cash handling, sanitation and housekeeping/facilities maintenance of the operations, and assists with menu planning and development for these facilities. Responsible for the organization, direction, and staffing of these facilities in order to meet departmental goals of serving high quality, safe and nutritious meals to students, staff and campus visitors. Assists with the development of operational pricing and budgets, and meeting sales, budgetary, and financial targets. Participates in departmental decisions regarding operating policies, procedures and planning.

Job Requirements

Required Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, possess strong organizational and time management skills, and have strong interpersonal skills. The successful individual will possess comprehensive knowledge of foods and the effect of handling and cooking, especially in large volume production and have the ability to plan for the production.
