Role and Responsibilities / Skill and Education Requirements:

  • Fabricating with metals and plastics (drawing plans for using the proper tools to assemble and install) arc, MiG, and plastic welding, use of cutting torches, band saw and drill presses, all types of power tools.
  • Use of calipers, measuring tapes, squares, plumb bobs and levels, and more.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and one-line diagrams and electrical symbols. Running conduits, pulling wire,
  • Final connections and troubleshooting of electrical circuits. PLC experience a plus. Use and care of multi-meters.
  • Running black pipe, PVC and other types of piping, knowledge of plumbing terms like union, bushings, couplings, etc.
  • Repair and use of hydraulics.
  • Pneumatics, compressors and air tools of all types as well as troubleshooting air-type pumps.Use of tools like hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pullers, pliers, taps, etc.Good communication skills and basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, use of calculator).Work at heights using safety equipment and things such as ladders, scaffolds, boom lifts and forklifts. Ability to communicate well with required personnel, supervisors, engineers and production workers. Ability to follow instruction and record information about all work performed daily.
  • Preventative maintenance to keep equipment clean and running properly.
  • High school diploma or GED. Some trade school for electrical, fabrication, welding, plumbing, and/or tool and die
  • (2-3 of these are acceptable), and 2-4 years of experience in related fields.
  • Starting pay is based on knowledge of and/or experience in required major duties and responsibilities.

 Work Environment:

 While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have flexibility to work different shifts for need and training, the ability to work at heights and in small spaces using respirators and safety equipment, and the ability to stand, stoop and climb. The employee works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes and airborne particles,   toxic and caustic chemicals, and extreme heat.
