Responsibilities – Supplier Quality Engineer
Assess and analyze suppliers' processes, parts, and performance to ensure specification-meeting parts and/or assemblies are delivered to ccompany
Advise and assist suppliers and company personnel in the control and improvement of prints and processes to ensure part quality
Supplier Quality Support: prepare problem definitions, submit Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR) requests, negotiate the disposition of non-conforming parts with Suppliers, and work with Suppliers to facilitate the resolution of SCARs.
Machining and Assembly Support: participate in the cross-functional review of process potential failure modes and effects analysis (process pFMEA); validation of control plan effectiveness; torque recipe development for critical bolted joints; process audits; ECN readiness; statistical process control (SPC); internal corrective action reports.
Report Balanced Score Card (BSC) metrics for Focus Area and facilitate actions to address gaps.
Execute all SQE responsibilities pertaining to NPD Projects, including ensuring complete, accurate, and value-adding deliverables per schedule
Complete assigned actions to support strategic initiatives.
Use, control, and improve Quality Management System (QMS) documentation.
Requirements-Supplier Quality Engineer
B.S. engineering degree (Industrial or Mechanical preferred)
5 years’ experience in Manufacturing Environment required; 8 years preferred
Computer literate with knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, ERP/MRP BOM systems, CAD.
Proficient with mechanical inspection tools and techniques including calipers, thread gages, micrometers, pin gauges, and indicators.
Proficient in reading engineering drawings including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Strong technical and process problem-solving skills required; experience with methods such as KT Problem Analysis, Lean, DMAIC required
