Our professional services client company is seeking a Technical Support Specialist for their Houston office to provide deskside hardware and software set up and support; provide video conference support (including conference room technical setup, maintenance, room preparation, call initiation and user assistance before and during video conferences); analyze/resolve problems with desktop/laptop hardware, OS, and applications software; provide printer, scanner, and projector support; and support a variety of wireless and handheld devices with an emphasis on iPhone/iPad and Android devices.

The successful candidate will further provide basic software troubleshooting of the company’s applications (including MS Office Suite, Internet Browsers, Accounting, PDF, Contact Management and the Document Management System); assist with maintaining a hardware inventory including laptop checkout duties; create and update tickets using the Help Desk ticketing database; assist laptop users with remote desktop and VPN access; and serve as point of contact for IT Network Engineers for basic network support.

Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in an IT Help Desk or support environment; have working knowledge of the MS Office Suite of applications; and have extensive knowledge of Windows OS, computer hardware and software. Although not required, it is preferred that candidates also have 3+ years of Level 2 deskside support experience; have experience with HP LaserJet Printers and Ricoh photocopiers and printers; and have experience in a professional services environment.

Candidates must have o utstanding “white glove” customer service abilities; have excellent written and verbal communication skills; be able to communicate with all levels of staff, management, vendors, and client representatives; and have strong initiative, drive, and the ability to work in a professional services team environment with minimal supervision.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent U.S. residents (green card holders) and have a high school diploma; an A+ certification and/or some college is preferred.

This position will participate in the afterhours and weekend on-call rotation for video conference support, equipment moves, and IT projects as required. Occasional travel for some offsite projects is required.

This is a permanent onsite opportunity with a base salary from $60-65K, +/-, DOE, in addition to an annual bonus structure and an excellent full benefits package including both a 401(k) and annual profit sharing.
