Job Description


Responsible for working on projects associated with quality and process improvements, cycle time reduction, facility improvements, maintenance support as needed and downtime reduction by performing the following duties.



  • Reads, modifies, and troubleshoots PLC programs (Allen-Bradley and Siemens preferred) using laptop computer.

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment as necessary.

  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors, manufacturing engineers or other maintenance personnel to diagnose problems or repair machinery.

  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired mechanical and electrical parts.

  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.

  • Lays out assembly, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.

  • Works with Facilities Manager, manufacturing engineering and supervisors to ensure operations are performed in a safe manner.

  • Assists manufacturing engineering in improving the process and quality of existing or new equipment.  Takes part in the pre-acceptance and acceptance of new machinery.

  • Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.

  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as the lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools as necessary

  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.

  • Must be flexible to work any shift, overtime and weekends as needed.  This position is on call 24 hours.

  • Modify equipment programs as necessary to improve product quality, machine cycle times, and overall throughput

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Requires a minimum of Associate’s Degree (AA) from a two year college, university or technical school and/or minimum three years related work experience in an industrial maintenance work environment performing the above duties and responsibilities.
