Responsible for working on projects associated with quality and process improvements, cycle time reduction, facility improvements, maintenance support as needed and downtime reduction by performing the following duties.
Reads, modifies, and troubleshoots PLC programs (Allen-Bradley and Siemens preferred) using laptop computer.
Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment as necessary.
Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors, manufacturing engineers or other maintenance personnel to diagnose problems or repair machinery.
Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired mechanical and electrical parts.
Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Lays out assembly, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
Works with Facilities Manager, manufacturing engineering and supervisors to ensure operations are performed in a safe manner.
Assists manufacturing engineering in improving the process and quality of existing or new equipment. Takes part in the pre-acceptance and acceptance of new machinery.
Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
Sets up and operates machine tools such as the lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools as necessary
Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Must be flexible to work any shift, overtime and weekends as needed. This position is on call 24 hours.
Modify equipment programs as necessary to improve product quality, machine cycle times, and overall throughput
Other duties as assigned
Requires a minimum of Associate’s Degree (AA) from a two year college, university or technical school and/or minimum three years related work experience in an industrial maintenance work environment performing the above duties and responsibilities.
