Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required. A minimum of five (5) years of related experience working as staff accountant is required. Prior experience in governmental accounting/auditing settings and fixed asset accounting is highly preferred. Knowledge of Government GAAP and GASB 34 reporting requirements is required. Demonstrate superior analytical skills and problem solving ability. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.

The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing moderately complex work in accounting systems and related aspects of financial management including financial reporting, budget analysis, grant reporting, debt compliance/reconciliation, internal audit and cash management; requiring comprehensive knowledge of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s financial functions, government fund accounting, fixed assets, auditing, tax reporting and automated accounting systems. The incumbent is required to operate with minimal supervision and must be able to independently develop data necessary for sound managerial decision making and financial reporting.
