We are currently seeking a Field Quality Control Inspector to join our Design department.
Position Description: Qualified candidate will be a member of the Quality Control team and work closely with the manufacturing, erection, construction, architectural, structural, and precast design teams as well as various subcontractors on the integration of those systems within precast components. Employee will be responsible for making sure that field processes and tolerances of the Erection and Construction departments are held to the standard set forth but the Finfrock Quality Committee and the Erection Quality System Manual (EQSM).
Regularly check for and obtain up-to-date structural, erection, connection, and bracing plan drawings on an issued tablet computer from electronic archiving source or network archive
Use surveying equipment to verify layout of gridlines, formwork, vertical members, and other elements of the structure
Use tablet computer and PDF drawings to document inspected areas and to designate locations of specific issues/deficiencies
Report all deficiencies/non-conformances to designated project engineer, architect, or other parties via web-based software
Inspect and verify foundation components prior to placement of concrete including welds
Reinforcing clearance, size, spacing, and location
Embed type and location
Step heights, reinforcing, and locations
Locations of blockouts, waterstops, cold joints, etc.
Inspect and verify foundation embed type and location after placement of concrete
Verify erector’s conformance of Precast Erection Bracing Plan with on-site activities and correct/report as warranted
Inspect grout quality, mixing procedures, and placement beneath structural members
Inspect and verify structural components (precast, CIP, CMU, steel, etc.) for compliance with structural, precast erection drawings, and/or EQSM
Inspect and verify all structural connections are made per the project documents and EQSM
Report all findings, cleared areas/levels, etc. to relevant inter-department personnel
Perform/report on safety inspections of job site conditions and equipment
Perform weekly safety discussions/toolbox talks for erection crews while onsite
Assist in training of other field quality control inspectors
Attend Pre-Erection meetings for individual project
Facilitate cross-training in and of other departments to understand the full picture of Finfrock DMC

Have or obtain ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I
Have or obtain PCI Certified Field Auditor certification
Have or obtain PCI individual personnel certifications (I, II, III)
Have or obtain AWS Certified Weld Inspector (or CAWI) certification
Have or obtain 30-hr OSHA training
Minimum of one years’ experience performing field inspections of concrete structures and/or welds
Has a general knowledge of building construction
Has the ability to communicate in both written and verbal formats of English at a professional business level
Good organizational skills, computer/smartphone-savvy, and willingness to continually learn new technology/software
Ability to engage with others in a professional manner to coordinate and solve issues
Confident, assertive individual who is a self-starter with a keen attention to detail
Experience in precast concrete is a plus
Ability to work in an environment that is 50% field work, 35% driving, 15% office work (includes meetings, filing reports, coordination with other departments, training, etc.)
Ability to meet all driving requirements set forth by Finfrock (insurance minimums, reliable transportation, etc.)
Willing to relocate if not currently residing in Central Florida
