Job Summary

Oversee the daily operational and quality system functions that entail any and all aspect of quality regarding the commodities of C&F Foods, Inc.; this shall be completed in an efficient and cost effective manner.  Maintain appropriate staff level for his or her department. Supervisor will assist the Corporate Director of Quality Assurance in regards to the upkeep of all quality systems.  QA Supervisor and or Quality Team Member(s) are required to obtain a Non-Commercial Pesticide Applicators License and assist in the protection of infestation at his or her facility location

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Ensure the awareness and understanding of ALL Food Safety requirements and ensure the quality and safety of all packaged goods.
  • Ensure awareness and understanding of HACCP Program and ALL Critical Control Points (CCP) related to the packaging process.
  • Inspections of railcar received (gathering 1000gram samples, moisture test, and analysis of received product).
  • Inspections of trucks received (gathering 1000gram sample, moisture test, analysis of received product).
  • Inspections of RA’s received.
  • Reporting of Incidents, Rejections, and Cost Dispositions that occur during 1st and 2nd shift of production, receipt of product, etc.
  • Inspections of production lines (production line performed approximately every 60 min. and or at item changeover).
  • Review and assist with Bean Washer reports and Pinto mill reports.
  • Monitor pest control and service provided for Pest Control Company
  • Monitor of GMP’s.
  • Send samples as requested. For example: monthly and bi-weekly samples (Topco, Safeway, Great Value etc.) and water samples (Certified Laboratory).
  • Coordinate disposal of any fumigant packages that come in on railcars / trucks.
  • Send samples and photos of product received that may be out of specification.
  • Gather samples from the production line. (samples retained from production are kept for 12 months).
  • Responsible for the inspection of Finished Goods Area to ensure FIFO (First In/First Out).
  • Responsible to identify items that require additional processing to meet quality standards.
  • Responsible for HOLD process, Bulk and Finished Good product, when quality is substandard, requires additional handling and or is out of date for reprocessing.
  • Serve as IFS Representative and Food Defense Coordinator.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment as technician, Coordinator or Supervisor.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or Associates Degree.
  • Computer Skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) beneficial.
  • Individual capable of following procedures and keeping records.
  • Responsibilities person capable of performing routine activities.
  • Individual responsible looking for challenges.
  • Individual will be responsible to comply with Hold/Release product procedures.
  • Must have Food Manufacturing background.
