Welder
Prefabricated building system manufacturer that specializes in electrical substation control buildings and communication shelters is seeking an experienced MIG Welder that can immediately contribute to increasing Production and Efficiency while maintaining quality within our Plant.
General Job Description:
● Follow Guidelines to Maintain a Safe Working Environment
● Use Tape Measure, Hand Tools, and Power Tools to accurately erect building structures
● Read Blueprints to ensure proper Building Erection while Maintaining Quality
● Work with Team to use Proper Tools for Bracing Panels for Erection to Prepare for Welding
● Work with Crane Operator and Team to Move Concrete Panels Around, Connecting and Disconnecting
● MUST be willing to work doing tasks other than welding when needed as that is only a small part of the day.
● Perform additional Tasks as instructed by Supervisor including, but not limited to, Clean-Up and Housekeeping Tasks
● Welding in various positions and angles to ensure strong welds on the products
◦ Welding will not take up the full workday
Requirements:
● High School Diploma
● Valid Driver’s License
● Ability to Pass a Drug Screen and Background Check
● Ability to perform job specific physical requirements under the specified working conditions
● Willing to Work on Knees and Can lift 50 lbs
● Willing to Work in Outside Environments When Necessary
● Self-Sufficient and Self-Motivated
● Reliable and Timely Transportation
● Strict Start of Day at 7:00 AM, occasionally earlier start time will be needed
● Working Knowledge of Basic Construction Math, Blueprint Reading, and Hand/Power/Welding Tool Use – Tape Measure, Levels, etc.
● Ability to be Certified by Modular Connections
◦ Ability to Weld Stick and Mig
◦ Positions: Flat, Vertical, Uphill, and Overhead
● Able Perform any assigned Task
● Willingness to Work Overtime as Needed, Including Weekends
● Ability to Stay until Tasks are finished Properly – 3:30PM End of Day (Jobs May Require Staying Past 3:30 PM)
● Availability to Travel on Occasional Basis to Job Sites to Perform Installation and Troubleshooting
- Monitor welding performance and welding efficiency
- Using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment
- Maintain welding supplies and maintenance of welding equipment
- Perform welding duties using a wire welder
- Setup welding machines to obtain proper welding penetration
- Using processes gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
- Operate other welding equipment or learn other welding processes
- Specialize in certain types of welding such as custom fabrication, welding, structural construction welding, or production welding
- Perform pipe fitting and pipe welding
- Perform other types of welding including fabrication and plate welding
- Perform arc, mig & tig welding operations
- Using various welding techniques (tig, mig, and oxy acetylene welding)
- Replace worn welding machine parts
- Set up welding machines and welding various thickness and types of steel
- Adjust welding current to proper weld configurations
- Maintain and operate welding equipment
- Maintain welding equipment and tools
- Perform welding, repair and fabrication
- Obtaining a structural welding certificate (CWB)
- Using wrenches or welding equipment
