Job Description

JOB GOAL:

To advance the college's mission, vision, principles, values and strategic initiatives through continuous improvement decisions.
 
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: 
Under limited supervision, provides program management, monitors budgets, leads teams, and ensure compliance with state and federal funders within the Secondary Education department, including HS Completion and English language classes.  This position oversees lead staff, hiring and evaluation of lead staff members, program development and delivery, institutional and community relationships, and monitor performance metric attainment.  Will work with team coordinators to ensure day to day activities with instructors and students are completed.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the secondary education leadership team including HS completion, HS Distance Learning and ESL.  Support division sustainability.
  • Work with the Director to establish institutional and community partnerships necessary for growth and relevance of the program.
  • Direct program design and continuous improvement of course delivery, student experience, and student learning.
  • Bring together all teams within Secondary Education to collectively ensure all students receive quality instruction, advisement, and wrap-around supports.
  • Monitor performance metrics and work with coordinators/supervisor to ensure student services are structured appropriately to surpass student retention goals and development of educational and work plans beyond the High School Completion program.
  • In collaboration with department leadership (instructor coordinators/supervisors) evaluate and develop necessary professional development opportunities for instructional team and divisional staff.
  • Recruit, hire, and evaluate program supervisors and instructor coordinators.
  • Monitor budgets monthly to ensure funding levels are appropriate and being spent correctly. 
  • Learn and use data base systems to pull reports, track performance, and ensure compliance.  Pull performance and case management reports as needed.  Monitor monthly.
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of federal, state and local policies and professional development in conjunction with the leadership team.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:
